The Takeaway: House Members Criticize One Another, Reject a Wall Street Bailout Plan Today, facing the sound defeat of his Wall Street bailout plan and a historic single-day drop in the markets, President Bush and his advisers will have to go back to the drawing board.
The Brian Lehrer Show: Bailout Fallout The NY and NJ delegation had a big effect on the defeat of the bailout plan. Republican Scott Garrett (R-NJ 5th) and Democrat Jose Serrano (D-NY 16th) voted against the proposal, while Democrat Gregory Meeks (D-NY 6th) and Republican Vito Fossella (R-NY 13th) voted for it.
