The problem with the selection of Sarah Palin as the Republican Vice Presidential nominee is not Sarah Palin or her family, it’s that her selection highlights the hypocrisy of the Republican Party- They stand for family values, but their kids have premarital sex; they want someone with experience in the White House, but they choose a person that was a one term mayor of a small town in Alaska and is half way through her 1st term as governor; they wont bailout Americans in foreclosure, but they want to give a $1 billion for reconstruction to Georgia; They want a ban on homosexual marriage, but two of their senators and one of their spiritual leaders have been involved in homosexual scandals. The criticisms are not against Ms. Palin, as the Republicans wish they were, the criticisms are against the hipocrisi of the Party.

The one really BAD decision ( Palin ) has made is deciding to be a poor parent!!!! Allowing her 17 year old get pregnant..?? If she cannot keep tabs on her own 17 year old daughter how can she keep tabs on an entire country!!!!!!!

Senator John McCain is a war “Hero”… That is where it all ends!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just because he is a war hero…It does not make him a person who is in touch with the problems of “Today”…
Let the record show he has voted in-line with Mr. Bush 91% of the time…
Mr. McCain will give us more of the same crapp!!!!!!
Tax breaks for the rich – nothing for the middle class & poor…
We need true change – Barack Obama 2008 !!!!!!!!!

Aides to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin improperly obtained her former brother-in-law’s state police personnel files and cited information from those records to raise complaints about the officer, the head of Alaska’s state police union said Thursday.
“It’s apparent to us that the governor or someone on her staff had direct access to his personnel file, as well as his workers’ comp file, and those are protected,” said John Cyr, executive director of the Alaska Public Safety Employees Association

I also love how they look down on Obama for helping in the poor community, none of them would even walk in that community without a bevy of bodyguards

I appreciate WNYC providing links to all of the speeches from the RNC so we can relive all of the half-truths and fear-mongering spewed by the radical right, but it would be nice to see links to the speeches from the Democratic convention posted too. The speeches by Barack, Hillary, Bill, et.al. were inspiring and should be easily available for people to compare to the drivel offered up by the republicans.

What a bunch of partisan complainers… Not a single post here has talked about substantive issues. Issues are important, not partisan stabs. You criticized Palin for not keeping tabs on her 17 year old daughter. That is not a fair jab. You would never criticize Hillary because she didn’t keep tabs on Bill.
