Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton sparred over immigration, health care and the war in Iraq in their first one-on-one debate on Thursday. Clinton emphasized that the nation needed a president ready to go to work on “Day One.” Obama responded: “…[I]t is important to be right on Day One.”

McCain Wins Florida, Giuliani Headed to California

Rudy Giuliani spoke to supporters in Florida, congratulating John McCain but stopping short of bowing out of the race. WNYC’s Andrea Bernstein reports that Giuliani is headed to California where he will endorse Sen. John McCain, but that remains to be seen.
