Massachusetts To Distribute Federal Stimulus Funds For Efficient Appliances

(WBUR, Boston) — Last year, it was “Cash for Clunkers,” a federal stimulus program to get gas-guzzling cars and trucks off the road. Beginning todayat 10 a.m., Massachusetts residents can take advantage of a similar plan aimed at getting rid of inefficient home appliances.  WBUR reports.

Montana Gov. Thaws Some Frozen Stimulus Grants

(Yellowstone Public Radio,  MT)  In January, Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer froze 50 stimulus grants because he said he was concerned about the state’s budget situation.  This week he  released his hold on that $3.5 million.   The governor says he wanted to shore up the ailing teacher’s retirement fund — but the 2009 state legislature had other ideas.   You can listen to Jackie Yamanaka’s story here.
