all banannas are clones from seedless plants propigated by cuttings so ev ery type tastes the same at the same age 
but the beer whooo hooo that works 
i think the current variety is suffering as it is nor resistant to a black fungi that contaminates the soil thus redering it liable to extinction as there are no more varaites available
