David Lynch has released a gigantic new box set of his films, shorts, web videos, deleted scenes, and more. He’s calling it “The Lime Green” set. Why lime? “I like the idea of doing sets with colors,” he explained (sort of), “and I love lime green. And I don’t know why I love it, but it’s gotta springtime optimistic feel, lime green. A new thing coming.”
Fair enough.
I talked to Lynch about his choices for the set, his feelings about home video, and where his ever-fertile mind is at these days with it comes to the intersection of cinema and technology. This talk aired today on All Things Considered, but you can hear an extended version here, and watch an exclusive preview of the “Lime Green” highlight: nearly two hours of deleted scenes from “Wild At Heart.”

Glad to hear this has some bonus features that are worthwhile. For such a huge collection, I assumed there would be a lot, but it looked like most of the films were the same as previously released editions. Is it really worth getting if you already have all the best-editions of the film already?

Great interview! Makes me want to turn off the lights, turn on the Plasma TV and Surround Sound and watch……Blade Runner by MYSELF!

Thanks for asking the question about the Twin Peaks: FWWM Deleted Scenes. Looks like there is still some hope of finally being able to see them one day.

Now Lynch iss aying the deleted scenes aren’t out yet because of the ‘economy’. WOW…………….JUST WOW. He will never relese them because they have been WAY over-hyped adn Lynch LOVES the ‘talk’.

It’s nice to post without wondering if posts will be deleted by board admins because the posts don’t kiss Dvaid Lynch’s BUTT enough!

Excellent interview Nathan! Nice job and thanks for the range of intelligent questions.
Really excited to see the deleted scenes for Wild At Heart and to see Industrial Symphony #1 on DVD. I have an old VHS and that is one wild cool creation by Lynch.
I’m a bit saddened by his turn to digital. I’m one of those who was disappointed by the look of Inland Empire. I guess I’d feel differently if the films looked as lush and textured as Blue Velvet or Wild at Heart.
